About Vindicat

Vindicat is owned and operated by Jo Smith, who has more than 15 years’ experience in marketing, journalism and PR.

Based on the shores of Loch Fyne, on the west coast of Scotland, Vindicat takes full advantage of web technology to provide a service which feels as if it’s delivered from the room next door.

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne and a graduate of Leicester University, Jo still has strong family connections with the north east of England. She also has extensive professional connections across the Midlands, having lived in rural Warwickshire for 15 years.

Now based in Argyll, Jo uses all her expertise in marketing, PR copywriting and social media to help businesses connect with their customers.

A former sports journalist, Jo also has wide experience in corporate PR, having managed communications for the British Horse Society, Severn Trent Water, Birmingham City University and Cherwell District Council.

Vindicat is named after Team GB’s gold medal winning Olympic show jumper, Murka’s Vindicat, ridden by Peter Charles.  Inspiration for the name came while Jo was a volunteer Gamesmaker at Greenwich Park and watched Vindicat rise to the occasion to help clinch team gold.
